Welcome and thank you for visiting Church Health & Wellness!

Healthy Living in the Body of Christ is a choice.
Does your church have a wellness plan?
Not sure? Well, consider that in order for the human body to be healthy and have the energy it needs to carry on its activities, it has to be in strong mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. If any of these areas are weak, it weakens the rest of the body. (I think Paul said something about that in 1 Corinthians 12). The same is true in the Body of Christ. A congregation is only as strong as its weakest part. In order to get the Body of Christ in shape it is important to have a wellness plan to take care of the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual energy centers. So ask yourself….
Does your congregation…
- laugh together on a regular basis? (That doesn’t mean laughing at each other)
- intentionally surround themselves with beauty?
- do quarterly alignments to make sure they are still going in the same direction?
- get regular spiritual exercise?
- celebrate mini as well as major victories?
- take sabbaticals from meetings?
- have accountability, as well as, prayer partners?
- live by its mission statement?
- model self-discipline and love toward each other?
- have an antidote for toxic people?
- have a theme scripture to live by?
- understand the power of a positive No?
- easily give permission for those willing to stretch?
If you answered yes to all of these, thank you for checking out my page but you don’t need a wellness plan. If you answered no to more than three of these, you might want to take a look inside!

Ephesians calls us to live a life worthy of our calling and to make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. (Eph 4.2-3). This call and effort takes commitment, faith, skill, love. Too often churches focus on these four characteristics without paying attention to the one thing that has to be present for the other four to bear fruit. And that is health and wellness. To have health and wellness is to have the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual energy needed to live life fully. Health and wellness is much more than an absence of illness or disease. It is a state of functioning that allows us to reach our maximum potential. My goal is to work with churches who want to strive for health and wellness, who want to have the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual energy needed to thrive in the 21st century and who understand this is a process in which they must open themselves up to the movement of God in their corporate life together.

"Nancy Leport's name on our church retreat flyer brings repeaters every time. Her leadership is substantive and engaging; her approach is refreshing, and in the midst of laughter and growing relationships my church leaders learn and even relish the time taken away from the many other calls on their lives. I cannot recommend Nancy's skill, insight and competence too highly." --Rev. Carol Holtz-Martin, First Baptist Church of Macedon, NY
